The impact of menopause on relationships, sex and your mental health

Diane Danzebrink is a personal therapist, consultant and menopause counsellor with professional nurse training in menopause. She is the founder of the not for profit organisation Menopause Support which offers menopause education, information, guidance and support to the public via 1-1 video consultations, public workshops, a private facebook community and menopause awareness training and consultancy to businesses and organisations.

In 2018 Diane founded the national #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign. The campaign is calling for mandatory menopause education for GPs and menopause guidance in every workplace. The campaign has been instrumental in ensuring that menopause has been added to the new RSE curriculum in secondary education in England and continues to call for this throughout the rest of the U.K.

Regularly interviewed about menopause and mental health in the media she has written about menopause for both the Telegraph and the Guardian and has contributed to several books about menopause and mental health and wellness. Diane is currently writing her first book.

Samantha Evans is a former nurse and co-founder of Jo Divine, an online sex toy company, with her husband Paul. As the sexual health and pleasure expert at Jo Divine she writes practical articles about enjoying sexual intimacy and pleasure for their blog and the media. She advises many people and their partners about ways to enjoy sex when they experience sexual health issues including vaginal dryness and atrophy, painful sex, vaginal tightness, recurrent bladder issues, post op scarring, post hysterectomy, decreased sexual sensation and low libido.

She does this through good communication, exploring suitable sex toys, silicone dilators and their irritant free sexual lubricants and moisturisers which can help overcome sexual issues, enjoy sex and have fun with a partner or for solo pleasure.

She recently featured on Channel 4 : Davina McCall’s “Sex, Myths and the Menopause” where they had a fun and informative chat about sex, orgasms, sex toys, how ingredients matter when it comes to choosing and using lubricants and moisturisers, how everyone needs a good tube of lube in their bedside drawer and why they both want to be like their 95 year old customers still enjoying pleasurable orgasms!
