Dr. Saadia Meyer

Gynecological health after 40 – Common concerns and treatment options

Dr Meyer is a highly qualified practicing clinician, gynaecologist and BMS menopause expert, with over 25 years’ experience behind her. Her experience includes consulting, advising and treating women with concerns at every stage of their life, including puberty, sexual health, childbirth and the menopause. She helps patients to live the lives they want to, by informing them of the choices on offer, so they can make well informed decisions about their own lives.

She stresses that there is no ‘magic pill’ to relieve all symptoms of the menopause. Her approach is to look at the whole picture, so, physically, emotionally and psychologically, before considering her recommendations for a patient.

As a woman, a mother and as a partner she understands how much pressure there can be to deliver our roles and responsibilities to the best of our ability. She firmly believes that if we build self-care into our early menopause, we can hope to experience a healthier and happier menopause.

She qualified in 1991 and became a member of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists after intensive post-graduate surgical training. In 2012 she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College for her ongoing contribution to the field of gynaecology and women’s health. As a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners Dr Meyer remains in active clinical practice.

Just some of the points we cover in this session:
The reasons many women going through perimenopause and menopause suffer with irregular or heavy bleeding, and what the treatment options are
When we should worry about bleeding
Whether women still need to consider contraception as they go through the menopause and recommendations
